Presentation Day Term 2 - 28.6.13
This week we held another presentation day. Once again the children in Year 2 have worked extremely hard to rise to the challenges to get closer to their homework goals. This week Rhodes and Jess completed enough tasks to get their bronze certificates, and Jess even had 6 more challenges - so she also receives her silver certificate!! That is awesome!!
Arlo made a fabulous helicopter for his recycled creation and Harry got creative with some cereal boxes to make a truck. Bree also made a decorated container to put bits and pieces in. On the whole everyone put in a great effort! Enjoy viewing our photos :)
PRESENTATION DAY TERM 2 - 24.5.13
Bronze Certificates
After this Presentation Day, some children have earned their first certificate for the Homework Challenge. This means they have successfully presented 6 challenges in class to a satisfactory standard. They will receive their certificate with bronze sticker, in Assembly this Friday. Well done! Mrs Ree is very proud of you!!!
Rhodes and Bede present their work on the Word Hunt challenge.

Bede made a cool tank out of recycled materials. He used lots of ordinary objects to make it. Bede presented his recycled creation with lots of confidence.

Harry shared his photos of the Meal challenge. He worked hard to create a lovely dinner for his family. Well done for filling the dishwasher too!

Jess competed in the Mt Somers bike race in the holidays. Here she is showing us the photos of her on the day. Jess made a poster with a story to present what she did.

Bede has learned to tie his shoelaces. Here he is showing us how he can do up his rugby boots all by himself!
Ruby has prepared all the elements for sushi. She has written out the steps she followed. Yum Ruby! Well done.

William talked about his walk to Blowing Point with his family.

Hunter used the computer to draw his bar graph and pie graph to show how many chairs, tables, switches and lightbulbs were in his house.

Arlo has been very busy logging into IXL at least once every week for a term. Here is the chart he used to record what he'd done.

William has kept a log of the books that were read to him over the term.
Rhodes is presenting the photos and story that he wrote about the walk he did with his family.

Ruby counted all the lightbulbs, tables, chairs and switches in her house. Then she drew a graph to present the information.
Harry has been learning to tie his shoelaces. He brought along a long nylon rope to demonstrate his newly learnt skill!

Arlo has recorded the books that have been read to him over the term. Great work Arlo.

Hunter has been a very busy boy helping to build a raised garden at home. Well done Hunter!
Ruby and Bede went on a big walk with their family when they were away in the North Island. They showed pictures from their walk and a map.

During the holidays, Harry wrote a diary for a week to remember what he got up to.

William has been to the library in Ashburton 5 times during the term. He brought along his list of books that he has read.

Bronte made a very long paper chain to help learn her fast words!

Ruby used some everyday recycled objects to make her crocodile.

PRESENTATION DAY TERM 1 - 19.4.13
Harry's challenge was to do a job at home for a term. His job was to make his bed in the morning. He made a chart and took photos to show he has done it.
William is telling us about how he counted all the light switches, tables and clocks in his house. He has a sheet that he used to record what he found and a graph to show his findings.
Arlo is talking about his walk with his family. He wrote a little story to go with the photo.
Bree completed a colourful chart to show when she fed and played with her dog Jess.

Arlo has had the Great Shoelace Challenge! He has written a diary to tell us of his journey when learning to tie his shoelaces! In his homework book he has also included a photo and a diagram to demonstrate how it is done.

Jess has made a Broom Man out of recycled materials. She had some help from her dad to out it together. Jess made a poster and labelled the parts to show us what materials she used.
William is showing his chart that he made for doing his jobs in the morning so he can be organized.

Bronte has produced an information poster about a reading book she took home. She has included information about the type of book it is and how many pages are in it.
Harry has set the table 10 times this term. He has written down the dates he has done this and his mum has signed it.

James has been on a big walk with his family. He has brought in a map and he's marked on it where the family walked.
Bree has been learning to tie her shoelaces!! She made a video to show us how to do it.

Jess showed us how she wrote her Spelling words on paper and made a paper chain with them. She explained how she made it and from which lists her words come from.

Rhodes has been setting the table this term. He has taken photos and made a chart to show when he did the job.
