Welcome to Mt Somers Springburn School
At MtSS, our goal is to mold each child into educated, confident, lifelong learners who embody our core School MOUNT values. Nestled in the foothills of Mid Canterbury, we are the gateway to the stunning Ashburton Lakes high country, offering boating, fishing, mystical mountain treks, and the backdrop to many on-screen movies. This area also holds the honorable history of mana whenua and its rich nutritional resources, which are still gathered today. Our location is enriched with great rivers, scenic walkways, the Hakatere Conservation Park, and adventures to the Mt Hutt Ski Field.
We integrate these rich resources into our schoolwide curriculum, maximizing every opportunity to bring learning out of the classroom and into the natural world around us.
