Welcome to Tussock!
Tussock is the first class children enter as they begin their school days at MTSS! We are a fun group of Year 0/1 students who love to learn.
We run a learning through play programme for parts of the day with emphasis on developing our MOUNT values through imaginative play, construction, art and crafts, science/the natural world, movement, music, and more. The Tussock children also love spending time with their Big Buddies from Rata (Yr 7/8).
We welcome new enrolments to attend our Friday morning Creation Station sessions and get to know the classroom routines as they near their 5th birthday. Please contact us for further information regarding this if you are enrolling your child.
Literacy and Numeracy are our focus areas and all children develop their initial reading, writing, hearing and spelling skills through our successful Structured Literacy approach.
